Port Richmond CERT and 2008

Greetings Everyone,

The Port Richmond CERT team is gearing up for our spring activities.  The team continues to meet every week, gaining awareness on CERT topics, and how we can continue as a resource to our community.

I would like to acknowledge the commitment and dedication of our volunteer members who give their time selflessly.  Since our beginning in October of 2005, we have logged almost 10,000 community service hours.  Our website, packed with valuable information, has had as many hits since it's been up (4 monthes ago).  This is an impressive collection of concerned Staten Islanders.  All bring a special gift and talent to form our team.

Sometimes, we cannot do it alone.  We ask for your support, whether it's sending us a letter of appreciation or making a small contribution.  We are an established 501 (c)3 and the donations are tax deductible.

We've got a good schedule ahead of us, so you may see one of our team members out on Staten Island.  Please stop and say hello.  And tell them how much you appreciate their volunteer service.

Stay Well,
John Tidona, Team Chief

Port Richmond CERT: A Resource to the Community

The Port Richmond CERT team is made up of volunteers from all over Staten Island.  Our members are dedicated, motivated, and willing to respond to emergencies.  Our mission includes:  helping our first responders, providing awareness and preparedness information, and continual training.

The team meets weekly and is liaisoning with other volunteer groups to share training and knowledge.

Staten Island is a great place to live, it has been for some time.  But it's getting crowded and getting off of it during an emergency may not be feasible.  Your options are to shelter-in-place or help your community.  Join the Port Richmond CERT team and help your community.

We are not a political organization.  We are not a religious organization.  We are diversified...that is our strength.  It is never about us, it's about who we can help.

Welcome

Welcome to the Port Richmond C.E.R.T. blog. We hope you will come and visit the site often. We will be posting news and discussing all things associated to C.E.R.T.
